Flash Cat

Just testing the 7D Mark II’s wireless flash control. I really like that it can control my 430 EX II from just the popup flash. The system is pretty slick, with several choices:

  • Built-in and external controled via the ratio of each to the other.
  • External only.
  • Both but with independent exposure compensation for each.

This is my cat with the 430 EX II at lower right with a 3:1 ratio to the popup flash.

7D Mark II w/ 70-200mm ƒ/4 USM – 149mm – 1/125, ƒ6.3, ISO 640

It’s amazing how just a bit of cross light brings out the detail in her fur. The carpet not so much.

This is also a Straigh-Out-Of-Camera (SOOC) JPG with nothing done other than exporting. I’m usually shooting raw, but wanted to experiment with how well the camera would do on it’s own. Overall I’m pretty happy with it.
